Member Group: Hero
Occupation: Rookie police officer
Canon or OC: Mostly canon with a few alterations
Height: 5'11/up to 6'9 with the symbiote
Weight: 165lbs/up to 340lbs with the symbiote
Play by: Cillian Murphy
Physical Description:
Pat stands at a typical male height and has a lean, almost frail looking build, seemingly unfit for someone in his line of work. Barely into the first stages of adulthood, his face is young and angular with large, vibrant blue eyes that appear to radiate off of his pale complexion. His hair is naturally colored with a solid dark-brown tone, and Pat always keeps it cut short, as is mandatory within the police force.
On the occasions that the Toxin symbiote manifests, Pat's appearance radically changes. Depending on its host's mood, the symbiote can potentially sprout up to ten inches and significantly increase its own weight and mass by more than double the original amount. Cosmetically speaking, Toxin seems to be very similar to Spider-man, at least until its razor-sharp fangs emerge, in which case, Toxin is much more akin to its monstrous predecessors.
When Pat is not busy prowling the rooftops beneath the guise of Toxin, he is usually found wearing a standard police uniform or some other type of formal attire. In most cases, these outfits are actually just the symbiote itself, which gives Pat easy access to it almost all of the time, readily allowing him to transform into Toxin at a moment's notice.
Personality: Patrick Mulligan is occupied by two separate personalities: his own and the one belonging to Toxin. The two are able to easily converse with one another, either verbally or mentally, which can be both an advantage as well as hindrance depending on the situation.
Pat is very formal and polite in his mannerisms, and he takes his job very seriously. He tries his best to maintain the appearance of a composed, very professional individual, and he constantly speaks as though his status as a police officer has given him years of experience beyond anyone else his age – a habit that makes him naturally protective of others, but also has the effect of making him seem like a preachy know-it-all. In actuality, Pat is one of the youngest cops in all of New York City, and still has a great deal of maturing ahead of him. Though he normally seems to be a stern man, wrapped up in his work, Patrick isn’t without a wilder, fun-loving side, which seemed to be almost non-existent until he and Toxin bonded. Unfortunately, the symbiote also turned him into somewhat of an attention-seeking glory-hog.
Whereas Pat generally strives for order and peace within his own life, Toxin tends to upset any hopes for such a balance with its child-like, mischievous ways. During the first days of their being bonded, the symbiote was very reluctant to cooperate with Patrick, and on one occasion, nearly brought an early end to the young man’s career. Patrick still struggles to keep Toxin on a short leash, but in the brief time since they first became acquainted, their relationship has marginally improved. Patrick has learned to loosened up a little, and Toxin has even begun to take after his host, developing a similar sense of justice – although Toxin’s idea of justice is a bit gorier than Patrick’s. Still, with all the senseless arguments that they exchange on a regular basis, their relationship has nearly infinite room for improvement.
Powers:
• Superhuman Strength: He possesses vast superhuman strength, and is stronger than Carnage and Venom combined[6]. Depending on how angry or upset he gets, he grows to a much larger size, with large claws, vicious fangs, and gets much stronger.
• Superhuman Speed: He can move or run at speeds greater than any normal human being.
• Superhuman Stamina: He can exert himself for at least 48 hours until fatigue impairs him.
• Superhuman Agility: His agility is superior to any normal human being.
• Superhuman Reflexes: His reflexes are superior to any normal human being.
• Superhuman Durability: He is much more resistant to injury than Spider Man, Venom and Carnage combined but still has the traditional symbiotes weaknesses but to a very minor degree. The tissue the symbiote is composed of renders Mulligan's body much harder and much more resistant to physical injury than the body of an ordinary human. Mulligan can withstand high caliber bullets, great impact forces, powerful energy blasts, and falls from great heights without sustaining physical injury. He is durable enough that he can withstand multiple barrages of high caliber weapons such as machine guns from close range completely unperturbed.
• Camouflage Capabilities: The symbiote is capable of mimicking the appearance of any form of clothing, camouflaging with its surroundings, and even mimicking other people.
• Shape Shifting
• Wall Crawling: Much like Spider-Man, Toxin has the ability to cling to virtually any surface. He can rapidly crawl, walk, or run across even slick/wet surfaces.
• Webbing: Toxin can project a powerful, organic web-like substance similar to the webbing Spider-Man has. He typically uses this webbing to swing from building to building or as a means of immobilizing someone. The webbing is incredibly strong.
• Regenerative Healing Factor: He can heal at speeds much faster and much more efficiently than a normal human.
Weaknesses:
• Sonic, Thermal, and Electric Attacks: Toxin is extremely susceptible to damage from these forms of attacks.
• Teamwork: Pat and Toxin can generally work together well; however, the symbiote will occasionally struggle for power with Patrick, and Patrick must constantly be prepared to fight back the symbiote’s violent urges.
History:
Raised as an only child by Irish parents in a predominantly Irish neighborhood in New York City, Patrick Mulligan knew early in his life that he was going to follow in the footsteps of his father, a long time Manhattan police officer. Patrick had very little say in the matter, as his mother constantly showered him with lectures about how great a man his father was, and how Patrick had to continue and live up to the man’s legacy. Mr. Mulligan, on the other hand, was very distant and always seemed to be consumed in his work, but he never pushed Patrick to do anything, nor did ever force his own ideals onto the boy, which Patrick grew to appreciate.
Throughout high school, Pat remained intensely focused upon studies and athletics, allowing very little free time for friends or other social pleasantries. In Pat’s mind, that time of his life seemed to fly by, leaving him with little more than fuzzy, uneventful memories. At the end of his twelfth year, all his unfaltering hard work seemed to pay off, as letters from numerous prestigious universities flooded his mailbox, each declaring his acceptance into their respective programs. For some reason or another – Patrick doesn’t actually know for sure, but he believes ‘academic burnout’ to be the cause – the young man decided not to pursue a college career at any of the aforementioned schools, instead, opting to enroll at the police academy, just as his father had done long before.
Even for Patrick, the police training proved to be daunting, both physically and mentally. Fortunately, he had enough self-discipline to push himself through each and every challenge that the instructors threw at him. His life was also made more enjoyable when he met a girl by name of Gina, with whom he seemed to share a great deal of chemistry. Before long, Patrick was a full police officer, and he and Gina had reached a new level in their relationship, having just become engaged. Patrick couldn’t help but admire himself, at last finding a way to balance his work with the rest of his life, something his father had never been entirely able to accomplish.
Then Toxin happened – a strange symbotic life-form that was forcibly bonded to Pat. The thing had a mind of its own, and Pat could always hear its voice in his own head. Dark, long-suppressed feelings seemed to surface while he and the symbiote were attached and Patrick often stayed up all night, in fear of completely losing control of himself to Toxin. Pat’s sudden and bizarre change of behavior became a concern to his fiancée, and as a result, he and Gina’s engagement was ended and their romantic relationship dissolved.
In the month or so since obtaining the symbiote, Patrick has come to fear and despise it a little less. The two are on better terms now, but there is still a great deal of tension between them, as Pat’s responsible nature conflicts with Toxin’s mischievous desires. The symbiote still tries to goad Pat into giving into his violent, gruesome urges, but so far Pat has abstained from doing so.
Sample Post:
The black and white patrol car crawled to a stop just behind the fiery red Corvette, on its way from a cosmetic tune-up, judging by the way the paint seemed to glow beneath the afternoon sunlight. A routine traffic stop, no big deal. Patrick casually stepped out of the police car and made his way to the driver in the Corvette. As he walked, he noticed that his black dress-shoes were exquisitely polished and they seemed to shimmer just like the red sports car. The only difference between the two was that Patrick would never have to pay someone to wax his shoes, or even waste time doing it himself for that matter. He supposed his shoes would always be polished now. Always. He especially loved how they clicked against the pavement like the soft, rhythmic beat of a snare drum.
Patrick approached the window, but before he could speak, his shoulders sprung up; his head dropped; his entire neck tightened. He muttered some inaudible curse behind a clenched jaw and rubbed his temples with one hand. So, Paddy, how are we going to handle this one? I suppose we can’t kill him for doing twenty-over in a school zone. Two broken legs seems within reason though, wouldn’t you say? That giddyvoice in the police officer’s mind laughed a sickening laugh that reverberated throughout all the corners in his head. He could feel the symbiote’s gooey tendrils crawling up his back, trying to force the hideous transformation without care, in plain view of the public.
“No,” Patrick shouted, garnering enough willpower to keep Toxin at bay. The man in the Corvette studied Pat with a bewildered expression, uncertain as to whether or not this was some kind of practical joke. “Right,” Patrick said, clearly exhausted after the ordeal, “No more speeding, especially in school zones. Neither of us will be happy if I catch you again.” The man in the Corvette thanked Pat and carefully drove away. Aw, the symbiote whined, you’re never any fun.

Powers:
In the interest of keeping the RP experience...well...interesting, I hope it won't be problem if I start out playing a 'weaker' Toxin whose powers aren't as fully developed as those listed below. To me, it makes sense since Toxin and Pat are so new to one another. Plus I think it'd be cool build up his powers through the RP.
