Physical Description: As far as looks go Kazama is a fairly average looking man, neither particuarly handsome or repulsive, his features are hawkish and sharp while his eyes remain dark and narrow. He is very lean and muscular with very little trace of fat. While he is far from the Man of Steel look Kazama has an unusual lithe style of movement and is compared more easily to a tiger than the dragon his nickname implies.
Kazama has adopted to American culture and fashion well and often wears designer leather jackets, form hugging t-shirts, jeans and boots whenever he is out and about, he does however own and often wear a sharp black suit with a red, high collared shirt and a tie along with trousers and sharp shoes. The tips of his tattoo's can be seen on his neck.
In the Yakuza a man's tattoo's tell his life and that of his families and Kazama is no exception. Kazama has a red dragon roaring in anger at the sky with one claw chained to the ground on his back, a symbol of his servitude to the Tanaka clan.
Personality: Utterly calm, ruthlessly inteligent and dedicated to the old ways, Kazama is the polar opposite of the rather hot headed chairman who having recently taken the throne from his retiring father is hungry for expansion and war. Kazama is often the voice of reason but is seldom listened too.
Kazama is very observant and rarely speaks unless it is required. While he is fluent in English he speaks mainly in Japanese, prefering the sound of his native tongue. To those of the Yakuza Kazama is polite, respectful and gentle in his words and is often jokingly called 'older brother'. To his enemies however Kazama is the dragon, he is ruthless, cunning and merciless. These excellent advantages are tempered with a strict code of honour based around the code of Bushido and as such Kazama will never sink to having unarmed women or children murdered. He has also known to develop respect for strong enemies and uses them as motivation to push himself further.
Powers: Kazama is a mutant from birth, having developed a healing factor from a very young age. While perhaps not quite as powerful or rapidly acting as say...Wolverines it is not far from it. Kazama can heal broken bones in hours and heals eve ngunshot wounds almost instantly. The disadvantage of this however is that Kazama's healing factor does not have the 'stamina' of Wolverines and will burn itself out quickly, shutting down completely untill damage ceases to occur. Also due to his advaned healing which repairs damaged tissue ( from attack or exercise) More efficently he has a degree of superhuman strength, speed and agility. He is capable of lifting two tons and punching a hole in a concrete wall. These acts will however take a toll on his healing factor.
History:
Born in Hiroshima to the shamed Hazuki clan, Kazama was born into servitude. During the battle of Sekigahara in the dark ages of Japanese history the Tanaka clan defeated the Hazuki clan in battle, each having pledged support to opposite sides. The Hazuki clan lived on land owned by the Tanaka and so their call to arms was seen as treason. The punishment for this foolhardy choice was harsh. The clan was forced to give up every first born son to serve as bodyguards and warrior-protectors of the Tanaka clan.
Kazama was the first and only son of a low-bred Hazuki bannerman and thus taken at birth and raised in servitude. His childhood was spent learning how to be a warrior, with the code of bushido hammered into his mind somtimes literally. He was taught the ancient writings of Japanese scholars and from their wisdom learned to accept his role in the world. Trained to a high degree in several martial arts, by the time he was thirty Kazama was a ninth dan in Karate, an olympic level judo expert and a master of Kendo. He is also skilled to a lesser degree in Jujitsu and Aikido.
Kazama's first assignment was a boy who would become chairman Tanaka and followed him loyally, saving his life several times. Kazama fought in World War II on the side of the Japanese, fighting at Hiro Shima and in several other battles against American marines. He was famous for his use of his officers katana, favoring it over all other weapons. He protected Chairman Tanaka untill America destroyed Hiroshima with an atomic bomb. Fully half the Hazuki clan were wiped out in the attack, the rest scattering throughout the world.
With the army in full retreat and surrender almost certian Kazama followed Tanaka into organised crime, establishing a Yakuza in Tokoyo where he earned fame for his cunning tactics and shrew approach to the new war being fought on the street by organised criminals. It was during this time that Kazama's healing factor manifested itself. Kazama was at first shamed by his apparent mutation, blaming the American attack on Hiro Shima. In his despair Kazama cut his own throat with a straight razor which of course...proved to be fruitless and went into depression.
Tanaka came to Kazama with brotherly words and reminded the older man of his duty to the Tanaka and while Kazama is distrustful of his mutation he is determined to uphold his duty and redeem the family name. Leaving Japan in the hands of capable liuetenets Kazama followed anaka to America where he began to expan his empire during the late seventies. The war here was different and when before their were laws, rules and respect now all was merely anarchy. Warring with Chinese Tongs and Russian gangs over control of the city, The Burning Dawn Yakuza managed to secure a foothold. As a reward for his loyal services Kazama was granted rule over a family, Re-establishing the Hazuki clan. In this act Tanaka ensured that Kazama would have a seat on the council during meetings.
Now Kazama resides as the gangs enforcer. Living as if at constant war, Kazama is determined to rid the city of the other factions and establish the cities oldest gang as it's rulers.
