Norman Osborn stood in front of the mirror of his office, carefully adjusting his tie. He needed to look even more perfect than usual today. He had agreed with Midtown High School to give a free tour of OsCorp to one of their students, who had scored admirably on a certain exam. Perhaps he would gain a bright new employ, or, at the very least, it would be great publicity for OsCorp. With all the recent developments, his company could use all the boosts it could get, no matter how low he had to stoop. Escorting some haughty teenager around was not his idea of fun, but one had to make sacrifices.
Of course, this would have been much simpler if his son, Harry, had been the one to score highly. Lord knows, if anyone, Harry Osborn should be the scientific genius at his school. But, no, instead it was some kid named Parkins or something. He probably should get that name down before he went to meet the boy. That would be quite an embarassing moment, especially for the CEO of OsCorp.
Rifling through the files on his desk, Norman located the paper on the boy. "Hm...Peter Parker. He looks like a good nerd. I hope he isn't one of those types that thinks he can correct me..." He shoved the file away and took a drink from the glass of water on his desk, turning to the mirror before setting it down. He straightened his tie one last time and checked his watch. Ten fifty-two. The boy was supposed to arrive at eleven. "Alright, Osborn, let's get this over with."
He left his office, headed down to the lobby, painting the closest thing to a warm smile that he could get on his face.

(IC as Peter Parker)
This was going to be interesting. Peter rode his bike up to the main doors of the Oscorp building, and looked up at the huge landmark. He couldn't deny, it was an honour to be given a glimpse of the labs here, but they could have at least have got him a taxi. He wheeled his bike towards the doors and entered the building, looking around at the glamorous lobby. Swanky.
So, Peter had passed a test with flying colours, and as a reward, the school organised a tour of Oscorp for him. Awesome, springs to mind. However, he was being taken around the facility by Norman Osborn himself, and that wasn't all good. Peter was friends with Norman's son, Harry, but had never met the famed scientist, but from what he knew, Normie gave him the creeps.
He went up to the desk with his bike, and smiled towards the receptionist.
"Hey, I'm Peter Parker. I'm here for the tour."
"Oh," replied the receptionist, "Wait here, Mr Osborn will be down in a second."
"Awesome. Urm, what should I do with my bike?" he asked, pointing down to it.
The receptionist glanced at it and sighed, getting up from her chair and taking the handlebars, and wheeled it around behind the kiosk. Peter nodded appreciatively, as he heard the lift doors open, and turned towards them, expecting the man himself.

Norman stood in the elevator, trying to tune that annoying music out of his head. Who made this music? Who put this music in the elevator? He should talk to some people and see if it would be possible to get this music changed, it was driving him insane. The elevator finally arrived at the lobby and Norman made sure he stood perfectly as it opened. A young boy who resembled the pictures he had seen of his touree stood in the lobby, looking directly toward Norman. That could only be Parker. He looked a little....bigger, than Norman had expected, but that was no big deal.
He approached the boy, holding out his hand. "I presume that you are Mr. Parker? Nice to meet you." This kid had a bit of a quiet vibe around him, so provided that nothing went wrong, this should be over quick.

( OOC: Mind if I, as the new guy playin' Parker, just leap into the thread here? I'm not sure what you had in mind, but feel free to PM me any details that I need to know. )

"I presume that you are Mr. Parker? Nice to meet you."
Despite knowing he was coming, Peter jumped a bit as he hastily dropped the hem of his plain, maroon t-shirt, which only moments ago had been wiping a smudge off his glasses. Shoving them roughly back on, he blinked owlishly as he took in the figure of Norman Osborn, in all his majesty, before him.
Blue eyes without a hint of cheer in them shone back at him, although an apparent smile lay on his lips; though he wasn't entirely sure why, Parker felt a bit of unease around him. This simply gave him even more of an excuse to do what 90% of the population did when first meeting someone, they broke eye contact.
Moving down from there, he became aware of Osborn's rather prominent jaw, was Harry's as protudent as that? He'd have to check next time he saw him. Hastily regaining his composure, he cleared his throat lightly as he hurried forward to meet Norman halfway, despite his improved reflexes and strength, Parker was not immune to clumsiness and as he tripped over his own feet this was oh so apparent. Barely stopping himself in time before he bowled his powerful, rich and influential host over, the boy flushed as he shot his hand out, taking Osborn's hand in his own and giving it a deceivingly firm shake, "Hello Mr. Osborn, it's a pleasure, a real pleasure!"
A spidery hand darted up to straighten his glasses which, until then, had been quite crooked on Peter's face. "Brilliant things you do around here, just brilliant. I've taken a fancy to following the work your company is doing with DNA and such, how goes it?"
Clamping his mouth shut, Parker suddenly felt very, very foolish. Of course he'd taken an interest with Oscorp's DNA work, it worked, didn't it? His power, his speed, his capabilities were living, breathing proof of that, but he couldn't very well say that, could he? With any luck, Norman would merely think him an eccentric lover of scientist...after all, that is what he was, right? That's why he'd won the privilege of coming here; highest scholastic average and all that jazz.
Forcing a small smile onto his face, Parker just realized he was still gripping Obsorn's hand and released it as though it were a king cobra. Hopefully, hopefully...HOPEFULLY, everything would go well, it would be a smooth tour and he'd see some neat things; maybe have a few interesting stories and facts to share with Aunt May tonight.

"Hello Mr. Osborn, it's a pleasure, a real pleasure! Brilliant things you do around here, just brilliant. I've taken a fancy to following the work your company is doing with DNA and such, how goes it?"
Norman suppressed the chuckle that rose to his throat at the boy's apparent enthusiasm and awkardness. Perhaps an appropriate reaction from Parker, given the circumstances. Taking his time to carefully word his response, it cut kinda close to the Goblin formula, after all, Norman half-turned and waved a hand toward the left, hoping that Parker would understand that his response would come as the tour began. As he walked toward the lift (with Parker beside him, for all intents and purposes) his businessman side took over and he left all worries of the Goblin behind.
"I appreciate the compliment, Mr. Parker. OsCorp strives to be the best at what we do, in every aspect of our research. DNA is one field where we have made a significant amount of progress. I would divulge more details, however, I don't want to risk a company secret leaking out. You never know who is listening." He tapped his right ear as an accompaniment to the statement and entered the lift, punching in the first floor button.

"...You never know who is listening."
Uh...paranoid much? Perhaps the world of weapons production was that competitive, that secretive, that mutinous. If so, then he already supposed Norman Osborn would thrive in that sort of world; the guy gave him the heebie-jeebies.
Still, he couldn't deny that his scientists, whomever they were, had hit the nail on the head with their DNA experiments and in the back of his mind he wondered if they'd succeeded to find said radioactive spider that had bitten him or, even more curiously, if they'd even known the spider had those capabilities.
If so, what could stop them from manufacturing more of said spiders, making more people with his own powers... or, even more terrifying, what if they took different animals, different insects and began to infuse their powers with humans? The results were endless, they were...frightening. Too many people could get a hold of these strengths and use them for evil, that just wouldn't do.
Eyes narrowing for a brief moment, Parker crossed his heart and swore to stop this from happening and the simplest solution lay right in front of him; he'd just have to break into OsCorp and rid them of all DNA research they'd have done. This tour would now serve a much higher purpose, be of much more importance...
Following Norman's steps, he took a quick breath, stealing his nerves and shot the question out before he faltered, "So, Mr. Osborn, would it be overstepping any boundaries to get a peak at some of this...erm...supposed DNA research?"

Norman permitted a silent sigh of relief as the lift hummed to life, slowly moving toward the first floor. The sooner this started, the sooner it could be over. He kept his eyes loosely in the area of where Parker was standing as the boy spoke up again.
"So, Mr. Osborn, would it be overstepping any boundaries to get a peak at some of this...erm...supposed DNA research?"
Very intriguing. This boy seemed infatuated with the DNA arm of OsCorp, so much so that it was beginning to worry Norman a bit. Especially the nature of the question. A majority of their DNA research had been trashed when that black creature was here, and although they had been able to keep most of the PR flak under wraps, this kid either knew something about it, or perhaps was payed off by a competitor to do some sneaky peeking. Or, he was just interested in DNA research. Perhaps he should inquire further.
"Just curious, Mr. Parker, but why are you so interested in OsCorp's DNA research? Are you perhaps planning on getting into that field once you're older?"

"Just curious, Mr. Parker, but why are you so interested in OsCorp's DNA research? Are you perhaps planning on getting into that field once you're older?"
The truthful answer? "Not really..." However, Parker couldn't really say that without setting Norman on high alert about his every probing question. Straightening his glasses, he replied quickly, trace amounts of nervousness in his voice, but he could only hope it would pass off as excitement, "Uh, well, yes. Genetic engineering is bound to take off at the speed of light in a few years. Everyone wants bigger and better everything and genes are the way to do it."
Slapping on what he hoped to be a friendly, disarming smile, he forced himself not to hold his breath as he awaited the lift to stop, the doors to open and Mr. Osborn to continue leading the way.

"Uh, well, yes. Genetic engineering is bound to take off at the speed of light in a few years. Everyone wants bigger and better everything and genes are the way to do it."
The answer was curious in two respects. 1, the fact that it so conveniently aligned to his suggestion, and 2, the fact that it came so quickly. These of course went hand in hand with each other and only lead to Norman being slightly more suspicious. Granted, the boy could be telling the truth? After all, what reason did he have to lie? But, oh, that is what needed to be found out. Making an effort to push the thoughts from his mind, Norman concentrated on the task at hand. Giving a tour of his company to a smart, interested kid.
The lift slid open as he slid out a response that was sure to be expected. "Just as long as you remember, OsCorp is always on the search for bright minds." He stepped out of the doors, not giving Parker a second glance as they strode down the white hallway, past a series of doors marked with numbers.
"This floor houses our R&D Department. The proportions of our products individual revenue to the company's total revenue reflect the amount of people we have employed in each field. Currently, our DNA and Weapons fields are the largest, so the corresponding R&D divisions are the most active and bountiful."
Stopping at a door with the number "87" on it, Norman glanced to see if Parker had followed. "In here is the DNA division. Would you like to take a peak?"
