Full Name: Felicia Abigail Hardy
Alias: Black Cat
Age: 17
Gender: female
Member Group: villain (at this point)
Occupation: student and thief
Canon or OC: canon
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 130 lbs.
Play by: Laura Vandervoort
Physical Description: Felicia has light blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a slim build and not a trace of fat on her body. She tends to dress in the latest fashions, and her tastes tend to run a bit on the expensive side. She likes to wear spaghetti-strap tops and “cute” skirts (and by cute she means sexy).
As Black Cat, Felicia dons a black bodysuit with a white mane of fur sporting from the back. She also has white fur gloves and boots. A black domino mask and a white-hair wig help hide her identity.
Personality: Give AT LEAST two paragraphs on your character's personality.
The best way to describe Felicia is that she is complex. At school, she pretends to be the girl who has it all: money, style, looks, and her pick of any of the varsity football players. Guys love her, girls envy her. She is smart and does well in school. She is polite but clearly unavailable to guys unless she is interested in them. Some say she’s an ice queen, but that’s taking it a bit far.
That Felicia is only an illusion, though, one that Felicia fears may one day be shattered if people realize how poor she really is, the fact that her dad’s in jail and she’s actually taken over his lifestyle as a thief. The one thing she fears most if her identity as the Black Cat is that her mother will disown her.
As Black Cat, Felicia banishes all of her worries and concerns about rules and laws. She is whimsical and flirtatious, often doing things that the more “proper” Felicia would find outrageous.
Powers: None. However, she has the agility of an Olympic athlete. She also has some martial arts training and is constantly seeking to improve herself in this field.
Weaknesses: Felicia’s most noticeable weaknesses include a tendency to swipe expensive, shiny objects and a tendency to taunt the law’s ineptitude to catch Black Cat. Someday, this arrogant attitude is probably going to get her in trouble. Her confident demeanor also hides a deep insecurity about her family’s financial status.
History:
Danielle, Felicia’s mother, had come from a wealthy family. Felicia’s father always felt guilty that he couldn’t provide his wife with the sort of lifestyle she was accustomed to, despite his wife’s insistence that such things didn’t matter to her. Eventually, he turned to crime to help him buy the things his wife wanted. When his wife found out, she turned him in.
Felicia was nine when her father was arrested. She was tremendously confused, not wanting to believe that her father was a bad man, despite her mother’s assurances that he was. She was in denial at first, wanting to believe the police were mistaken. Every night she lay in bed hoping that her father would come back to her.
With time, Felicia’s denial turned to reluctant acceptance. The acceptance did nothing to dull her pain or sense of loss, though, and in middle school she became quite adept at masking her true turmoil behind a façade of energy and optimism. She began to blame her father for abandoning her and her mother for betraying her father. As a result, she became increasingly troublesome at home.
Felicia and her mother moved from New York City to Brooklyn when Felicia turned fourteen. Felicia's mother hoped that Felicia would be free from bullying in a new school where no one knew about her father. Felicia used the opportunity to present herself as a snobby rich girl like many of the Midtown High girls she saw. She invented a fairy tale life story.
But Felicia worried about the truth being unmasked about her family. She took a bus to get to see her dad in prison, hoping that she could renew her relationship with dad and possibly his relationship with her mother. She just wanted a sense of normalcy and the love of a father figure.
When Felicia heard why her father had become a thief, she instantly understood and sympathized with him. And, despite the fact that theft had clearly gotten her father in trouble, she couldn't resist the urge to try and follow in his footsteps. She just wanted to have the same things as everyone else at Midtown High. She begged her father to arrange to teach her his skills, but he flatly refused, not wanting his daughter to end up in the same boat he had.
Felicia went ahead anyway. At the age of sixteen she got caught for shoplifting and arrested. The experience only convinced Felicia that she didn't want to get caught, however, not that she didn't want to steal. She came up with the identity of Black Cat, a mysterious thief who would never be caught.
Black Cat's skills were quite limited, though, and she got caught her first time breaking into an art collection that belonged to Wilson Fisk. The Kingpin was impressed with her spirit and innovation, though, and offered to not report her to the police if she would be willing to accept training from some of his men and work the occasional "side job" for him.
The offer was too generous for her to believe, but she took it without hesitating.
Sample Post: The Black Cat swung from a grappling hook onto the roof of the art museum. She was here so the Kingpin could see if she had been worth the money and time he had spent training her. She was determined not to disappoint.
Through a skylight, she spotted one of the night watchmen lazily making his rounds. She was sure it was the one who had been eying her cleavage earlier in the day when she had been scoping out the place as Felicia. It was kinda gross, a guy twice her age staring at her rack. Jesus, she wasn't even eighteen yet! She was totally jailbait. The sicko!
Then again, Felicia had to admit that maybe she could dress more appropriately...wait, was she serious? What was she thinking! That she would just go around school dressed like someone's grandma. No thanks.
She set her sack of thief tools down and focused on the task at hand. She attached a suction cup to a pane of glass on the skylight, then began using a laser to silently cut through the glass.
