Norman sat at the table in the kitchen, munching on some breakfast food that had been served up by his butler, Bernard. Bernard used to be a good friend of Norman's and he was the only person who knew about Norman's secret identity. Just kidding. Bernard was some random butler that Norman wouldn't give the key to the house, let alone his greatest secret. Who knew what Bernard did in his sparetime? Not Norman, nor did he care.
Anyway, he was sitting there eating breakfast, thinking. He would have to leave for work once he was finished, but Harry normally left for school before he did. Norman found it curious that his son wasn't downstairs yet, and was fully prepared to ask Bernard to go check on him. But Bernard had disappeared. Apparently, Bernard had more important things to do than his job. Norman figured he should fire him. Or kill him. Or not care. Yes, not caring sounds good.
He would not have Harry making a bad impression on the Osborn name, and therefore would not permit him being late. If he did not arrive for breakfast soon enough, he would be in huge trouble. Oddly enough, Norman realized that he couldn't remember the last time he punished Harry. Not that it mattered, it just seemed kind of awkward. Oh, he would still do it, if worse came to worse, but he and Harry never talked anymore. And they never would talk if Harry didn't pick it up and get going in his life. He was virtually an average student, and Norman knew he had much more potential than that. After all, he is the heir to OsCorp.

What was Harry doing at the moment? Plotting some kind of crazy scheme. Wearing his goblin mask, he was walking around his room, talking to himself. "Seriously, THE TACO PLACE SHOULD BE NUKED! But, isn't it alittle crazy to destroy a taco place, and, not very evil...? WHO CARES?! THE TACO WE HAD THERE LAST HAD A HAIR IN IT! They need to be taught a LESSON...Seriously? YES, SERIOUSLY! Now, we can talk about it later. Go put the mask back in the closet, and, go downstairs." Harry sighed and took off the mask, and, placed it back in his closet with the rest of his Hobgoblin stuff. "You know, I really need to stop talking to myself, one of these days..."
Then, the son of Norman Osborn rushed downstairs, to see his father waiting at the table, looking impatient. Harry groaned. Great. Instead of just going before he left, his old man ALWAYS had to wait at the table for him. Well, that was just peachy. Either way, he first went over to the cabinet area, to get himself a spoon and a bowl, and, then, went to the table, put his bowl down, put his coat on the back of the chair, and, then, poured himself some cereal and then some milk. After taking a bite of Cereal, he looked at his father, and muttered, "Hey, dad..."

"Hey, dad..."
Harry finally came downstairs, looking as though he was not enjoying the fact that Norman was still here, and his half-hearted greeting confirmed this. Norman mentally debated whether he should say anything. His relationship with Harry was already nearly non-existant, he didn't even really know that much about his son anymore. As long as he was still planning on following in Norman's footsteps, Norman would be satisfied. Mostly.
Taking another bite before he spoke, Norman set his gaze on Harry. "Was there a problem this morning? Any specific reason you are running behind schedule?" The question sounded almost like an attack, although Norman hadn't meant to. Although it may appear that he doesn't care much for Harry, he did not wish ill upon him. He was glad to have a son, and an heir to boot. As long as Harry kept good health and good life, he was satisfied.

"Was there a problem this morning? Any specific reason you are running behind schedule?"
Harry Stopped eating and frowned. Great. His old man was either suspicious, or curious. And, knowing his old man as much as he did, he figured it was the first one. Why, his dad could be wondering why he didn't have better grades, OR...Whether or not he was reverting back to being a druggy. Of course, his dad would NEVER expect the truth; That he was planning stuff as the hobgoblin.
So, he needed a good lie. A lie that would get him out of this conversation. He wasn't one to do his homework in the morning...And, if he used he slept late as a lie, his Father would probably just lecture him, which Harry did not need, especially at that time of morning. Sooooo... "I was working on a chemistry project." True enough. He HAD been working on some chemicals to use in some new gadgets.

Norman nodded and took another bite of his food. A chemistry project, huh? Perhaps Harry was actually trying to improve his grades, first he stopped using, now he is...working.....on a chemistry project. Something seemed a little off. He remembered a few days ago, when Harry told him that he was clean. Norman had his suspicions then, but it all seemed a little fast. His physical health had already improved greatly, as had his attitude, not to mention, doing "chemistry projects" in his room? He would have to look into what kind of drugs were on the market. He had heard mutterings of some kind of X-juice, seemingly a weaker version of the Goblin formula, and temporary at that. Perhaps Harry was getting into some dangerous things....
Norman fixed a nuetral expression on his face. "If you ever need any more equipment for that project, all you have to do is ask me and I could let you use one of OsCorp's labs...." If Harry accepted his offer, it was obvious that he would then have been telling the truth. However, if he denies it, he is either lying, or has a pretty nice set-up upstairs. He'll get Bernard to check on it later.

"If you ever need any more equipment for that project, all you have to do is ask me and I could let you use one of OsCorp's labs...."
Harry frowned at what his dad suggested. Not because he didn't WANT to use Oscorp equipment to make stuff...It was because he already HAD used Oscorp equipment to make stuff, including his costume and glider. Also, he suspected his dad might be abit suspicious about his chemistry projects...And, that he might be doing drugs again. Of course, he didn't NEED drugs, anymore. He got plenty of joy from the villain Biz, but, of course, that was something he didn't want his father to know.
Also...His father might end up being abit suspicious about any chemicals he or Bernard would find in his room, if they searched it. He was actually working on a formula that would quickly knock out his opponents, and, maybe even induce memory loss. Of course, then again...Considering what the formula WAS, it probably wouldn't be to hard to do the same to his dad, if he decided that he was going to check out Harry's room. He could probably also do the same to Bernard, for that matter. "I'm pretty good with what I've got Dad." Then, he thought to himself, Plus, if I ever need to use Oscorp stuff again, I'll just sneak in again...

"I'm pretty good with what I've got Dad."
Well, then, he will definitely investigate this further sometime. However, not now. He couldn't really linger around the house too much, OsCorp was working on opening a new branch and he needed to be there. He, of course, had no idea what could be going on in Harry's head, but he only hoped that it was serious. "Alright, I better see your grade reflecting the extra work then." Harry was seventeen now, right? So that mean he must be getting close to graduating high school.
"By the way, Harry, are you a senior or a junior?" His ignorance of the fact did nothing to pain him as it might an average parent, or surely Harry. He didn't have much time to keep track of everything, however. If you ran an international business the size of OsCorp, you would understand. However, perhaps he should start discussing Harry's future plans with the boy.

Harry groaned. The grades...His father always only cared about his class work, it seemed. Sure, he could pass most of his subjects easily now, but, it would probably seem suspicious if he got really high grades then. Then again...Most people would probably just think of it as him hiding his genius. So, that could probably actually work.
Then, his father asked him about what stage in highschool he was, exactly. He frowned. Sure, his father ran a LARGE company, but, still... "You know, Dad, CEO of an incredibly rich company or not, it's kind of strange that you know I get average grades, but, that you don't know which stage of highschool I'm in..."

"You know, Dad, CEO of an incredibly rich company or not, it's kind of strange that you know I get average grades, but, that you don't know which stage of highschool I'm in..."
Norman sighed. Why couldn't he just answer the question? Why did he have to drag all kinds of baggage into the conversation. Harry should just be proud that he had a nice house to live in, food on the table, money to buy things with, a butler, for cryin' out loud! Doesn't he know how many kids would kill to have their own butler? Norman took a few more bites while he mulled over how to handle the situation.
Simply asking the question again probably would do no good, that might even escalate it into a full-scale argument. He could just forget the question and look it up once he got to work. Or he could take the childish route and snap back at him. Norman was no child and he wasn't interested in arguing with his son, so he chose the second option. "Harry, Harry, what are you planning on doing once you graduate high school? Where were you thinking about going to college? I hope you are planning on working with me, OsCorp is my legacy and you are the only one fit to carry it on after I retire." Harry wanted family ties, how is that?

Oh, please. The only reason he thinks I'm the only one fit to carry his legacy, is because I'm his son! Well, if he only knew that's not the only reason I'm fit to carry his mantle...Besides, Oscorp might be perfect for my little games...Stuff I could never get my hands on, unless I was an Oscorp executive...Anyway, gotta answer his question.
"I don't know, Dad. Maybe I could work in Oscorp as a chemist, or, a person who invents technology. Of course, I might be able to do that as a CEO, too. And, who knows, Dad? There are some dangerous people around. Like, Carnage, Scorpion, Green Goblin...Why, maybe even that Hobgoblin guy, that's recently showed up. You might be retiring sooner than you think..."

Norman wasn't sure what exactly Harry was getting at by bringing up all of the super-creeps, especially himself. However, it appear Harry did have some initiative as far as OsCorp went. The only thing that set Norman off was the wording. "So, you are considering a chemistry or engineering major, then? It would also probably be a good idea to get a business degree, too."
He finished eating and stood up, carrying his plate over to the sink and rinsing it off. "Have you given any thought as to where you want to go?" He could only hope that Harry had high aspirations, like Norman did at his age. The boy appeared to be trying to turn his life around at this point, and he would begin to earn Norman's respect as soon as Norman started seeing some results.

Colleges...Well, incase he DIDN'T find a way to become CEO of Oscorp by the time he was 18, it was always a good idea to find other ways to get in. "Well, I've been thinking about maybe Colleges, like Baruch or maybe the city college. After all, they're right here in New York, and, would probably be good enough places for me to go to."
Suddenly, he frowned again. Something had suddenly come into his mind...The formula he drank at Oscorp before he became the Hobgoblin...What was the name of it, again? He remembered it read 'Goblin Gre', but, there had been a few faded letters on it, sooooo...He decided it would be nice to know the full name. Then again...His dad might get suspicious. Better find a way to ask him about it that wouldn't mean he had stumbled upon it in a room in Oscorp...Maybe act as though Drug sellers somehow stole it from Oscorp, and, were peddling it? "Hey, uh...During my tenor as Drug addict...I noticed a weird liquid drug, called 'Goblin gre', although it had a few faded letters on it...Like, Like two 'L's, one 'U', an 'E', and an 'N'. You know anything about it?"
Suddenly a voice in his head said, What are you doing? Are you TRYING to give us away?

"Well, I've been thinking about maybe Colleges, like Baruch or maybe the city college. After all, they're right here in New York, and, would probably be good enough places for me to go to."
No, no, this wouldn't do at all. As the future CEO of OsCorp, he needed to go somewhere where he could get a quality education and the right kind of tools. Perhaps he should go to Empire State University, like Norman did? Norman was about to suggest the idea to his son when the boy started speaking again.
"Hey, uh...During my tenor as Drug addict...I noticed a weird liquid drug, called 'Goblin gre', although it had a few faded letters on it...Like, Like two 'L's, one 'U', an 'E', and an 'N'. You know anything about it?"
Norman stood dumbstruck for a moment, trying to recall why this sounded familiar. The horror that struck him was simply terrifying. He kept it held down inside of him so as to let Harry no nothing of it. Is it possible that someone had managed to break into OsCorp and steal it? Rather recently at that? There was someone that immediately came to mind...the only question was finding him and beating the answers out of him. He needed to take care of this, now. Feigning ignorance, Norman shook his head. "Sorry, never heard of it. However, with the word Goblin in the name, one could only wonder if it's connected to either one of those Goblin-freaks in the news..." He glanced at his watch, "I've got to go into work early today, make sure you get to school on time." He immediately turned and headed for the door.
[Exit Norman. You can make one more post if you like, but after that, I think this is a good place to end it. Whaddaya think?]

Harry frowned, as his dad left. Why didn't he believe that his father never heard of it? Oh, he didn't know, maybe it was because of the fact that he found the chemical at OSCORP? So, now he needed to figure out his dad's connection to the green goblin, if there even was one. Soooooooo...He decided to talk to himself again.
"We know he's lying, that's for sure. Obviously, Harry boy. But, what is his connection to the green goblin? I'm not completely sure. Oh, COME ON! That Green goblin is almost as loony as us. So, that presents three options...Or, two. We can discount him just stealing it....Or, could we? Anyway, either he's stealing from dad, Dad's providing him with equipment, or...Dad IS the green goblin. Well, the third one is definitely an interesting theory. Perhaps we could do some investigation on it..."
